Open House Recap:
Despite the relentless storms and intermittent flash floods that reigned supreme October 2, 2014, more than 2500 eager individuals made it out to the CTE Open House, a modest estimate that we raced to keep track of until masses of people and dramatic weather ironically flooded in at the same time. At one point, amid storms we couldn’t expect anyone to safely traverse, I-435 was backed up for exits with our loyal supporters, one of them being the mayor of Kansas City. Held in celebration of the expansion CTE is experiencing both around the country and at its corporate headquarters, the open house was an opportunity for CTE to host its many supporters for barbecue, door gifts, big ticket raffle prizes, and exclusive equipment workshops, and to show off the company that over 400 people so proudly come to work for everyday. Here are some shots from the event:

You can check out full coverage of the Open House on our Facebook. Thank you to all who made it out, we can’t wait for the next one!

Make sure to check back in just a few weeks for the October Giveaway. We were
incredibly proud to have received such a show of support from the city despite the weather (we’re both honored by and sorry for the traffic we caused on 435.) Elliott Equipment & CTE’s Collaborative 45127R Unit Named Top 100 Products in 2013 by Construction Equipment Magazine!

The 45127R BoomTruck has a 45-ton rated capacity and a new design that allows for a 50-state federal bridge legal mounting configuration on five axles. The truck has a 34’5″ retracted to 127′ extended 5-section steel telescopic boom with a sheave height of 137 feet. A two-piece 32′ to 55′ telescopic jib is optional. Also optional are boom lengths of 105′ and 142′. Lifting is powered by a heavy-duty, two-speed hydraulic planetary winch with a 9,060 lb. single line pull, a 15,000 lb. bare drum pull, and rotation resistant wire rope.

CTE Now Mounting Highly Publicized 45142 BoomTrucks for Sale and Rental – After Unveiling with Partner Elliott Equipment at ConExpo-Con/Agg

Elliott Equipment Company has unveiled a new 45-ton BoomTruck model that features a 142′ five-section telescopic main boom on a permit-free 50-state federal bridge legal truck chassis.

The new 45142 BoomTruck model is designed to mount on a five-axle chassis with a total overall weight of approximately 65,800 lbs including a 32-55’ two-section telescopic jib and a detachable two-man work platform. The configuration is designed for a wide range of applications including electrical transmission construction and oil/gas service that require a combination of exceptionally long main boom lengths and powerful lifting capabilities in configurations that maximize permit-free mobility on federal highways.

In addition to the 45142’s strong lifting chart, the machine can be used for personnel lifting using Elliott’s new OSHA-compliant hydraulic yoke two-man work platform and jib for a maximum working height of over 215’ (65m). The new work platform features a yoke system that elevates hydraulically for attachment to the boom or jib tip, reducing attachment time and the potential for strain injuries. For aerial work, the 45142 includes one of the smoothest and precise remote control systems in the industry, with a LMI display integrated in the remote controller.

Other features on the 45142 BoomTruck include Elliott’s steel crane cab with easily replaceable flat glass windshield, full color LMI system, frictionless jib extension, and a 360 degree chart without a front stabilizer. The new design also includes Elliott’s reduced-tail swing fixed turret counterweight and a wide range of customized options and accessories for unique applications.

CTE at ConExpo-Con/Agg and NTEA Truck Show
The bosses at CTE divided and conquered in March, taking on both ConExpo-Con/Agg in Vegas and the NTEA Truck Show in Indianapolis. In Vegas, our equipment was featured in several booths, including the Elliott booth, which showcased two cranes co-developed by CTE and Elliott Equipment; an E160R mounted our CTE’s new CTrac Vehicle, alongside the unveiling of our 45142, Elliott’s first and highest capacity BoomTruck to feature a new design that allows for a 50 state federal bridge legal mounting configuration on 5 axles. In the Manitowoc booth, the NBT 6128 60-ton Boom Truck that CTE co-developed with National Crane was on exhibit, making the unit the largest boom truck ever built by the manufacturer in Vegas. Freightliner had our E160 mounted on a 122SD tandem steer/tridem drive daycab in their booth, and our troop carrier was featured in Morooka’s area.

In Indianapolis, talk was buzzing around the dump truck our Wisconsin facility fabricated for Brandon Truck Equipment’s booth. We were proud to be represented with our valued manufacturers at both shows, and are always excited to reveal the new and innovative projects CTE has in store for the industry. Check out our experience at ConExpo-Con/Agg and the NTEA Truck Show and stay posted for info on CTE at upcoming tradeshows.
